Ethics in Disaster Planning

The Center is collaborating with the Mid-America Regional Council to examine ethical issues regarding allocating certain limited medical resources during and after a disaster. A task force has been formed with representatives from MARC’s Regional Homeland Security Hospital Subcommittee, the Center’s ethics committee consortium and Center staff.

The Center has examined the issue through a May 2007 issue of Practical Bioethics and during the 2007 Flanigan Lecture.
