Our Domains of Work

Founded in 1984, the Center for Practical Bioethics is an independent organization nationally recognized for its work in practical bioethics. More than a think-tank, the Center puts theory into action to help people and organizations find real-world solutions to complex issues in health and healthcare.

We concentrate our work in four areas:

Aging and End of Life Care – to improve care or seriously ill and dying people and their family caregivers.

Clinical and Organizational Ethics – to sustain and protect ethical decision making in healthcare.

Disparities in Health and Healthcare – to eliminate disparities in health and healthcare linked to class, race and ethnicity.

Life Science and Research Ethics – to advance the protection of human subjects and the responsible conduct of biomedical research.
