Annual Dinner Sets Records 

Raises $317,000; draws more than 860 people

More than 800 people attended the Annual Dinner for the Center for Practical Bioethics on April 26. The evening featured former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani as the keynote for the Robert L. Biblo Lecture, which was entitled The Use and Abuse of Pain Medicines: Toward a Balanced Public Policy.

Don and Adele Hall served as honorary co-chairs for the event. Irv and Ellen Hockaday were honored with the Vision to Action Award. And the evening also honored 20 years of service by the Kansas City Regional Hospital Ethics Committee Consortium.

"This year's Annual Dinner took the Center to a new level of awareness and importance in our community," says Myra Christopher, president and chief executive officer of the Center. "More than 850 people felt welcomed and now have a better understanding of the Center."
