The Center for Practical Bioethics is grateful to its many friends and sponsors who financially support the Center each year.
Since being founded in 1984, the Center has recognized the importance of corporate financial support to achieve its vision and mission as a freestanding practical bioethics center. Aware of the potential for conflict between the interests of corporate sponsors and its own interests, the Center established a Corporate Gift Policy to make such contributions transparent and accountable.
Medical organizations support the Center, and their own ethical endeavors, by joining the Center as an organizational member. Organizational membership offers clinical consultations, ethics training and policy guidelines while also supporting the Center’s national initiatives that influence the day to day delivery of medicine. Business corporations engage the Center to provide advance care planning advice to employees. As employees age, the dilemma of caring for elderly parents and the prospect of their own long-term care, hold a significant, real economic cost for employers and their distracted or absent employees. The Center engages employers in a tailored program to improve consumer decision-making when faced with life limiting and life threatening conditions, episodes of care or remote surrogate involvement. Individuals can support the Center’s work through membership as well. Members receive invitations to Center lectures and symposia, along with email updates on Center initiatives and national bioethics issues. For more information and to join the Center, click here.
The Center for Practical Bioethics has three endowed chairs to advance the Center’s mission.
