Catherine Satterwhite, PhD, MSPH, MPH

Catherine Satterwhite, PhD, MSPH, MPH, is the Executive Director of the Center for Population Health and Equity (CPHE) at Kansas City University (KCU), where she works to build momentum around understanding and addressing the social factors that impact health by creating experiential learning opportunities for students in partnership with local organizations.
Dr. Satterwhite previously worked for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) in the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health. As the Regional Health Administrator for Region 7, Dr. Satterwhite was the lead federal public health official for Kansas, Iowa, Missouri, and Nebraska, working on diverse projects that informed HHS policies and programming. Dr. Satterwhite also spent time in academia as a tenured Associate Professor in the Department of Population Health and the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Kansas Medical Center, focusing on reproductive health research. In her early career, she spent over a decade as an epidemiologist with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Dr. Satterwhite, a Kansas native who currently lives in Kansas City, MO, is a Board Member for Della Lamb Community Services and the Missouri Public Health Institute. Dr. Satterwhite also has been in leadership roles with USA Climbing since 2018, most recently chairing the Youth Series Task Force. She previously served on the Board of Directors (Vice President) for Highlawn Montessori School.
Dr. Satterwhite earned three graduate degrees from Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health in Atlanta, GA: a PhD in epidemiology, a Master of Science in Public Health (MSPH) in informatics, and a Master of Public Health (MPH) in epidemiology. She received her Bachelor of Arts from New York University (Politics and French).
