Maggie Neustadt, JD, CPHRM, FASHRM

Maggie Neustadt is the Vice President of Risk and Claims Management for Saint Luke’s Health System in Kansas City, Missouri. As an attorney and clinical risk manager, Maggie directs the loss prevention and patient safety activities for the system’s 10 hospitals spanning the continuum of care from a 600-bed, academic medical center to several critical access hospitals, as well as a wide range of ambulatory and post-acute care settings. Maggie also has responsibility for managing loss control and claims for the system’s captive insurance program. Prior to joining Saint Luke’s Health System in 2011, Maggie was litigation Senior Counsel at Husch Blackwell specializing in defending healthcare providers involved in professional liability litigation.

Maggie earned her certification as a Professional Healthcare Risk Manager from the American Hospital Association in 2017. She was awarded the designation of Fellow of the American Society of Healthcare Risk Managers (ASHRM) in 2020. Maggie was a contributing author of the ASHRM Healthcare Claims and Litigation Playbook and the CPHRM Exam Preparation Guide and is on the Editorial Review Board for the ASHRM Journal. Since 2019, Maggie has been faculty at ASHRM’s Academy teaching the Applications in Risk Management module.
