Dr. Jarrett Mentors NIH Researcher on Digital Health Technology for Older Adults
AIM AHEAD Program
Lindsey Jarrett, PhD, director of the Center’s Ethical AI Initiative, was a Mentor for the first Cohort of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) AIM AHEAD (Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Consortium to Advance Health Equity and Researcher Diversity) program. AIM AHEAD matches researchers from across the nation with experts in AI/ML to gain technical skills so they will be able to apply those skills in their own work.
Lindsey was matched with Dr. Ankita Siddhanta, a research assistant professor from the University of Houston Population Health Department. Dr. Siddhanta has a focus on underserved populations and healthcare and a particular interest in the digital divide present with aging immigrants living in the U.S. Lindsey worked with Dr. Siddhanta on educational recommendations for older adults to better equip them with the knowledge they need to understand digital health technology. They plan to publish their work this year.
