Huddling with physicians facing morally challenging dilemmas

A personal message from Ryan Pferdehirt

Dear CPB Friend:

As a clinical bioethicist at the Center for Practical Bioethics, I help hospitals and health systems in Missouri, Kansas and beyond to ensure that the care they are delivering rises to the highest ethical standards.

You can find me in board rooms with administrators helping to shape policies, at the bedside of dying patients, and in huddles with physicians facing morally challenging dilemmas.

COVID-19, if anything, revealed how complicated and gut-wrenching these dilemmas can be. I am honored by the trust patients, families, physicians and administrators put in me and the Center for Practical Bioethics to help make decisions that ensure dignity and the best possible outcomes for all.

While other organizations support ethics, the Center for Practical Bioethics takes ethics from theory to practice, touching every aspect of healthcare delivery.

In times like these, I want the Center to be there for you.

That is why I urge you to donate to the Center for Practical Bioethics.

If you share my commitment to building ethics into the care patients receive and the policies institutions follow, I ask you to please donate to the Center today.

Sincerely,

Ryan Pferdehirt, D. Bioethics, HEC-C
Director of Membership and Ethics Education
