The Center for Practical Bioethics is an invaluable resource for the ethics consult service throughout the Saint Luke’s Health System. We are more confident in addressing clinical scenarios that have challenged us in the past, including resource allocation and when care has reached the limits of medicine. We are grateful for the expertise of the Center and look forward to continuing our partnership and developing our knowledge and skills as consultants.

Here at Ascend Hospice in Lee’s Summit MO, our partnership with The Center for Practical Bioethics has had real practical value.  Utilizing an ethicist to talk through challenging patient scenarios gives our staff members support and peace of mind and ensures we are giving our best  to the people we care for.  The Center has proven to be very responsive to requests for information for policy formulation, implementing the TPOPP and for general ethical questions and education for our organization.
